Run 4 Wishes Team Makes Stop at City Hall

Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown Run 4 Wishes Team Makes Stop at City Hall
Posted on 08/19/2019
Sailors from Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown visited City Hall today (Monday, August 19) as part of the 17th annual HMCS Charlottetown Run 4 Wishes, which is a charitable effort centered upon a volunteer relay run across PEI. The run raises money for the local chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation. The Foundation grants wishes to local children between the ages of three and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

The Run 4 Wishes fundraiser was initiated in 2003 by members of the ship’s company who wanted to raise funds for Children’s Wish in the ship’s namesake province. The team consisting of members from HMCS Charlottetown and HMCS Queen Charlotte, will run across PEI, visiting various places from August 19th until August 24th. Their goal this year is to raise $35,000, to help fund the 29 wishes that will be granted this year to young Island children.
