The City of Charlottetown will host the annual Mayor’s Newcomer Welcome Reception on Wednesday, September 18 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall (199 Queen Street).

Any newcomers who live and/or work in Charlottetown are invited to attend this free event. The Mayor’s Newcomer Welcome Reception provides an opportunity meet the Mayor and Council members in a comfortable, informal setting. During the reception, attendees will have the opportunity to tour City Hall. Charlottetown Newcomer Ambassadors will be at the reception as volunteer peer supports, helping to break down any potential language barriers and ensure the event is welcoming and comfortable for people of all different nationalities and cultures.

In addition to the reception, two newcomer orientation sessions are planned for later in the Fall. These free sessions will include a tour of the Charlottetown Fire Department, Station 1, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the various city departments. An announcement with more details on these orientation sessions will be made in September. Details will also be available at the Mayor’s Newcomer Welcome Reception.

The Mayor’s Newcomer Welcome Reception is open to all newcomers who live or work within Charlottetown, whether they are from out of province or out of country.
