The public is invited to join the City of Charlottetown and TD for a fun morning of tree planting. TD Tree Days is taking place on Saturday, October 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Miltonvale Wellfield Site (16948 Route 2, Miltonvale Park).

During the event, 150 native trees and shrubs will be planted. Attendees will also learn about the emerald ash borer and their potential impact on the ash trees in the city.

TD Tree Days is a free event. Light refreshments will be provided. Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to register in advance at: https://www.tdtreedays.com/en-ca/events/1361-miltonvale-well-field-site

The Miltonvale Wellfield Reforesting Project began in 2012 with the goal of increasing biodiversity, improving water quality and creating an overall healthy ecosystem. With over 200 acres to work with, this is an ongoing project that has seen thousands of trees and shrubs planted to date.

TD Tree Days is an initiative of The Ready Commitment, which includes TD’s goal of planting one million trees by 2030.
Trees do more than beautify parks. From absorbing carbon from the atmosphere to helping to manage rainfall, green spaces are critical to building more resilient and liveable communities.

Since launching the goal in 2017, TD has planted more than 96,000 native trees and shrubs in communities across Canada and the U.S. This year, up to 10,000 volunteers and hundreds of community partners will help plant another 38,000 trees. In total, since TD Tree Days started in 2010, TD has helped plant over 390,000 trees and shrubs across Canada and the U.S.
