Floating Dock Extension

Floating Dock Extension to Be Installed at Victoria Park; Roadway Closed
Posted on 08/17/2020
An extension to the modular composite floating dock system will be installed at Victoria Park on Tuesday, August 18. The Victoria Park Roadway will be closed to vehicular traffic in the morning, beginning at 6 a.m., to allow for the installation. The active transportation pathway will remain open. A section of the boardwalk in front of the dock, as well as the existing floating dock, will be temporarily closed while the installation is completed.

It is expected that the dock system will reopen to the public by noon on Tuesday, August 18.

The extension will add four sections of dock (80” x 120”) to the end of the sides of the existing dock. One additional bench will also be added to the dock.

The dock system will be open for public use from dawn to dusk, and it is expected to remain in place until October 15.

A list of rules and regulations are posted at the entrance to the floating dock and the public is reminded to abide by these rules in order to ensure public safety and enjoyment for everyone. The dock is regularly inspected and monitored by City staff, including Park Patrol, to help ensure public safety and compliance.

The public is reminded that the City has a Public Slip located at the Charlottetown Yacht Club, where small non-motorized watercraft, such as kayaks or paddle boards, can be launched.
