Micro-Grant Program Applications

Open Call for Second Round of 2021 Micro-Grant Program Applications
Posted on 06/07/2021
The City of Charlottetown’s Environment and Sustainability Committee is now accepting a second round of applications to the 2021 Community Sustainability Micro-Grant Program. This program offers small-scale grants to community groups or individuals that are planning an initiative which works towards the goals and actions of the City's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP).

Thanks to support from the City’s Water & Sewer Utility, this round of funding will offer two grants to community groups or individuals that are planning an event or project related to the theme of “Water.” Eligible projects must engage the community in sustainability and work towards the “Water” goal of the City's ICSP.

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee whose members will consider the potential positive impact on the community, the project’s feasibility, and how it contributes to the overarching goal of becoming a more sustainable community. The projects that are selected by the committee will receive grants of up to a maximum of $2,500. Applicants must be able to complete their project in Charlottetown in 2021.

The City of Charlottetown encourages applicants to be creative in their approach. The many challenges we face as a community do not exist in isolation from one another. Applicants are reminded to follow all directions from the Chief Public Health Office when developing their projects and to be mindful of the restrictions regarding public events. Applications that fail to account for current regulations will not be considered. Due to the potential for rapidly changing regulations surrounding public gatherings, applications for large scale public events are discouraged.

The deadline to apply to the second round of funding is Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 2:00p.m. For more information about the Micro-Grant program and to access the application form, please visit www.charlottetown.ca/micro_grants or contact Alistair Ozon, Water Coordinator at 902-629-4001 or [email protected].
