Traffic Advisory for Wednesday, July 7

A traffic advisory has been issued with the following traffic flow impacts expected for Wednesday, July 7:

• Sidewalk and curbing work is scheduled to take place in the following areas for (the week of July 5-9):
o Hillsborough Street, between Water Street and Richmond Street
o Heather Avenue, between Oak Drive and Doncaster Avenue
o Upton Road, between the bypass and Sandlewood Street
o Sidmount Avenue, between Goodwill Avenue and North River Road
o Lilac Avenue, between Shamrock Drive and the Cul-de-Sac

• Pond Street, between Queen Street and Spring Park Road will be reduced to one lane of stop and go traffic for the day Wednesday. This is necessary for contractors to inspect and examine underground pipes in this area. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and traffic control personnel will be on site to direct traffic.

• Tree maintenance is scheduled to take place in the following areas on Wednesday:

o St. Peter’s Road, between Woodward Drive and Falconwood Drive from approximately 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Vehicle traffic will be reduced to one lane and sidewalks in the work zone will be closed to pedestrian traffic. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct traffic.
o Prince Street, between Grafton Street and Richmond Street from approximately 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Vehicle traffic will be reduced to one lane and sidewalks in the work zone will be closed to pedestrian traffic. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct traffic.
o Queen Street, between Euston Street and Fitzroy Street from approximately 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. (noon). Vehicle traffic will be reduced to one lane and sidewalks in the work zone will be closed to pedestrian traffic. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct traffic.

• Spencer Drive, between Babineau Avenue and Towers Road will closed. This closure is necessary for the construction of the new road to connect Towers Rd and Spencer Dr. Traffic control personnel on site to help direct drivers around the site. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

• Work continues on the new library on Queen Street, between Richmond Street and Sydney Street. This section of sidewalk remains open to pedestrian traffic with signage in place as this work is ongoing.
• A section of the boardwalk that runs along the waterfront parallel to Haviland Street, adjacent to the Culinary Institute and the Armoury, will be closed to pedestrians during the construction of a project at 15 Haviland Street. Those using the boardwalk will need to go around the site while exploratory excavation work related to a future building and the existing storm water pipe is completed.
