The City of Charlottetown honoured six people for their military service during the 2021 Veterans Recognition Awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 9, at the Rodd Charlottetown.

The Veterans Recognition Awards were initiated in 2005 to mark The Year of the Veteran. Since then, the City of Charlottetown has continued to honour veterans each year with the private recognition ceremony.

“We are continually grateful for everything these veterans have done to ensure that the quality of life we enjoy is maintained. The City of Charlottetown recognizes the efforts of these veterans to maintain peace at home and abroad,” said Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown. “Each recipient has shown great bravery, tenacity, and leadership by serving our country. That is why we are so proud every year to recognize our veterans in this ceremonial way.”

The 2021 recipients are:

• Warrant Officer Remi Arsenault
• Corporal Tyler Coady
• Master Corporal John Daniel Gerard McInnis [posthumous]
• Lieutenant (Navy) Brent Miller
• Captain Leigh Taylor
• Leading Seaman Paul Wilbert
