2021 Micro-Grant Program Applications

2021 Micro-Grant Program Applications Now Being Accepted
Posted on 04/01/2021
The City of Charlottetown’s Environment and Sustainability Committee is now accepting applications for the 2021 Community Sustainability Micro-Grant Program. This program offers small-scale grants to community groups or individuals that are planning an initiative which works towards the goals and actions of the City's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP). Eligible projects must engage the community in sustainability and relate to one or more of the City’s four pillars of sustainability: environmental, economic, cultural, and social.

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee whose members will consider the potential positive impact on the community, the project’s feasibility, and how it contributes to the overarching goal of becoming a more sustainable community. The projects that are selected by the committee will receive grants of up to a maximum of $2,500. Applicants must be able to complete their project in Charlottetown in 2021.

This year, the City is particularly interested in projects that further efforts towards climate resilience, food security, supporting the arts, creating healthy communities, and making Charlottetown a more inclusive place to live. Nevertheless, the City is always inspired by the creativity within the community, and encourages residents to submit all projects that contribute to the City’s sustainability goals.

Applicants are reminded to follow all directions from the Chief Public Health Office when developing their projects and to be mindful of the restrictions regarding public events. Applications that fail to account for current regulations will not be considered. Due to the potential for rapidly changing regulations surrounding public gatherings, applications for large scale public events are discouraged.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 30, 2021 at 4:00p.m. For more information about the Micro-Grant program and to access the application form, please visit www.charlottetown.ca/micro_grants or contact Katrina Cristall at 902-629-6368 or kcristall@charlottetown.ca.
