City Launches Drink Local Campaign

City Launches Drink Local Campaign
Posted on 07/09/2019
The City of Charlottetown has launched a campaign to educate visitors and residents alike that Charlottetown’s drinking water is safe to drink straight from the tap.

The campaign is primarily directed at tourists and newcomers, as they may not be aware that a hundred percent of the City of Charlottetown’s tap water is naturally filtered groundwater. The City offers water refill stations that use fresh tap water at several locations including: Connaught Square, Orlebar Park and the Hillsborough Dog Park. The City also has a portable refill station for events such as Canada Day.

Educational materials are available for organizations and individuals who are interested. The City has been working with the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada to promote the Drink Local campaign in its communications with newcomers.
