City Temporarily Closes Playgrounds

City Temporarily Closes Playgrounds
Posted on 03/20/2020
The City of Charlottetown has made the tough decision to temporarily close all playground structures located at City-owned Parks or recreation facilities.

This temporary closure will be in effect as of 1 p.m. today (Friday, March 20) and will remain in effect until further notice. Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the City has made this decision to ensure social distancing protocol is followed, as per the recommendations from the PEI Public Health Office. Signage will be installed at City-owned playgrounds over the next few days.

Parks, trails, and boardwalks will remain open, but the public is reminded to maintain social distancing.

Physical activity is encouraged, even while practicing social distancing or self-isolation. Local organizations, like Go!PEI, are offering free online activity programs for all fitness levels. Find out more at: www.facebook.com/goPEI.ca/
