Deadline Approaching to Complete Survey on Short Term Rentals

The City of Charlottetown is reminding the public that the deadline to complete a survey to provide feedback on short term rentals is Friday, May 31 at 5 p.m.

Short-term rentals are defined as the rental of a dwelling unit or a portion of a dwelling unit for a period of less than 30 consecutive days. The issue of short-term rentals has a number of different implications for residents, homeowners, renters, and the tourism industry. This survey is intended to collect feedback from various stakeholders and residents who have an interest in this issue. Depending on the outcome of the survey and future public consultation, City Council may adopt regulation to address the concerns expressed through the public consultation process.

Feedback collected will be used to inform and shape subsequent public consultation methods, regulation, and policy. The survey is anonymous and anticipated to take less than 15 minutes to complete. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, May 31 at 5 p.m. Only one survey submission per IP address will be accepted, duplicates will be removed.

Printed copies of the survey are available at City Hall (199 Queen Street) at the front reception desk during business hours, and will also be available at the Planning and Heritage Department (233 Queen Street). Completed copies of the survey can be dropped off or mailed to the Planning and Heritage Department: 233 Queen Street, Charlottetown, PE - C1A 4B9.
