The City of Charlottetown will celebrate its 164th birthday with Natal Day events taking place August 1 to 4. Don’t miss the Charlottetown Food Council’s Mid-Summer Garden Party at 420 University Avenue on Thursday, August 1 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Enjoy fresh local food, activities and music in the largest garden in the city.

At 7 p.m., join Charlottetown Mayor and Council in honouring and recognizing citizens who are doing outstanding work in Charlottetown. The award ceremony will be held at Beaconsfield Carriage House and include the presentation of: Youth of the Year Award, Citizen of the Year Award, and the Mayor’s Award of Merit. These awards were designed to recognize extraordinary Charlottetown residents who go above and beyond to positively impact the people and community around them.

Other Natal Day events include: family yoga and a pancake breakfast; a skateboard, BMX and scooter competition; a celebration in honour of Forbes Kennedy; a seniors’ social with Mayor and Council; the traditional Natal Day Parade and church service; as well as the Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by Downtown Charlottetown Inc. and VegPEI’s first vegan block party. The weekend wraps up with Afternoon Fun in the Park – children’s activities, birthday cupcakes and much more at Victoria Park.
