The City of Charlottetown will celebrate its 164th birthday with Natal Day events taking place August 1 to 4. Bring the whole family to Rochford Square for Family Yoga, grab a bite to eat at the Natal Day Pancake Breakfast and then head to the park for the Skateboard, BMX and Scooter Competition, presented by Outer Limit Sports.

On Saturday, August 3, at 8 a.m., relax in Rochford Square with free family yoga. All ages welcome. Don’t forget to bring a yoga mat.

After yoga, join Mayor Philip Brown and City Councillors for a traditional morning rise and shine civic birthday event. The annual pancake breakfast takes place from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in Rochford Square. Enjoy free pancakes, juice, sausages and coffee, along with live entertainment by Adam MacGregor and the Foes. The rain location for the pancake breakfast is Fire Station #1 at 89 Kent Street.

The Charlottetown Skateboard, BMX and Scooter Competition will take place at the Victoria Park Skateboard Park with registration at 9:30 a.m. Helmets are mandatory. Prizes will be awarded.

The jam-packed weekend of free Natal Day events also includes: a celebration in honour of Forbes Kennedy; a seniors’ social with Mayor and Council; citizen recognition awards; the traditional Natal Day Parade and church service; as well as the Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by Downtown Charlottetown Inc., and VegPEI’s first vegan block party. The weekend wraps up with Afternoon Fun in the Park – children’s activities, birthday cupcakes and much more at Victoria Park.
