New Battery Recycling Kiosk Announced
Posted on 02/18/2021
The City of Charlottetown has partnered with Call2Recycle Inc. to establish a new battery recycling kiosk in celebration of National Battery Recycling Day (February 18).

The new drop-off location for used batteries is available to the public at City Hall (199 Queen Street) from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. It is located just inside the front doors of the building. Bags are provided for batteries that require terminal protection and to ensure safe disposal.

The public is reminded that used batteries at home should be stored in a non-metal container until they can be safety disposed of at a recycling station. Used batteries improperly stored or thrown in the trash can spark and possibly cause a fire. Batteries that end up in landfills can also be harmful to wildlife and the environment.
