Public Meeting Scheduled for the Fitzroy Bike Lane

Public Meeting Scheduled for the Fitzroy Street Bike Lane Project
Posted on 02/01/2019
The City of Charlottetown will host a public meeting on Tuesday, February 26 on the Fitzroy Street Bike Lane Project.

The public meeting will take place at the Rodd Charlottetown (75 Kent Street) and will be held between 7 – 9 p.m. The public meeting will begin with a presentation and then the floor will open up for Q&A from the public.
The project proposes the creation of a 2-way bike lane on Fitzroy Street, connecting the Confederation Trail to the Victoria Park Bike Lane through the downtown. The project will also result in improvements that ensure the streets and intersections are safe, convenient and comfortable for all road users.

This project is funded 50 per cent by the Province of PEI through the Municipal Strategic Component of the Gas Tax Funds.

Last month, a Community Drop-In Session was co-hosted by CBCL and UPLAND, who have been contracted to provide the engineering design services, intersection reconfiguration and cost-estimates. From that session, the City has been presented with recommendations to move the project forward, while addressing the concerns that have been expressed by the community.
