Public Washrooms to Reopen in City Parks
Posted on 06/05/2020
The City of Charlottetown Parks and Recreation Department will begin to reopen public washrooms, such as those in Victoria Park, today (Friday, June 5). The Victoria Park washrooms are expected to be open by noon and the other park washrooms will open by Monday, June 8.

To meet the Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) recommendations for increased cleaning, the washrooms will be cleaned/disinfected every four hours, when open for use.

The public is reminded to adhere to the CPHO health orders and guidelines. When using any public washroom, everyone should maintain physical distancing, wash their hands thoroughly and often, maintain proper etiquette in relation to coughing and sneezing, and take any other necessary precautions as outlined by public health officials.

Signage will be posted in all public washrooms in parks outlining the CPHO policies and procedures that must be adhered to while using any City-owned washroom.

City staff will continue to monitor these facilities. If the public does not adhere to public health orders and guidelines, restrictions could be placed on these City facilities.
