Traffic Advisory for Friday, July 23

A traffic advisory has been issued with the following traffic flow impacts expected for Friday, July 23:

• Sidewalk and curbing work is scheduled to take place in the following areas for the week of July 19-23:
o Hillsborough Street, between Water Street and Richmond Street
o Heather Avenue, between Oak Drive and Doncaster Avenue
o Sidmount Avenue, between Goodwill Avenue and North River Road
o Mount Edward Road, between Longworth Avenue and Allen Street
o Patton Court, off of Upper Queen Street

• Heather Avenue, between Oak Drive and Doncaster Drive closed for the day for pavement milling work to occur. Sidewalks in the area will remain open to pedestrian traffic.

• Flower bed maintenance is scheduled to take place in the following locations on Friday:

o Brackley Point Road, at the round-about at the Airport and Sherwood Road from approximately 6 a.m. until 8 a.m.
o Mount Edward Road, at the round-about at Allen Street from approximately 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.
o Water Street, medians at Weymouth Street from approximately 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. (noon)

• Spencer Drive, between Babineau Avenue and Towers Road will closed. This closure is necessary for the construction of the new road to connect Towers Rd and Spencer Dr. Traffic control personnel on site to help direct drivers around the site. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

• Work continues on the new library on Queen Street, between Richmond Street and Sydney Street. This section of sidewalk remains open to pedestrian traffic with signage in place as this work is ongoing.
• A section of the boardwalk that runs along the waterfront parallel to Haviland Street, adjacent to the Culinary Institute and the Armoury, will be closed to pedestrians during construction of a project at 15 Haviland Street. Those using the boardwalk will need to go around the site while exploratory excavation work related to a future building and the existing stormwater pipe is completed.
