Integrated Community Sustainability Plan

The City of Charlottetown's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) is a long-term strategic plan composed of a set of Goals and Actions intended to steer the City towards its environmental, social, cultural, and economic sustainability goals. This plan was created in 2017 through consultation with the community. The Goals & Actions are grouped under 10 themes: Water, Energy, Transportation, Food, Healthy Economy, Infrastructure and the Built Environment, People and Places, Arts, Culture and Heritage, Active Healthy Living, and Nature. In addition to these ten themes, Waste was found to be a stand-alone theme of high importance and, as a result, was added as a theme in 2019. This theme is not reflected in the ICSP itself but has been reported on in the 2019 and 2020 Annual Reports.

The progress made towards the Goals and Actions of the ICSP is reported on annually to celebrate the progress that has been made and to remain mindful of the work still to be done. n. In 2018, rather than producing an ICSP Annual Report, the City instead focused resources on the Energy theme and released a Community Energy Plan (CEP) that lays out Charlottetown's vision of 100% renewable energy.
