The City of Charlottetown is now accepting applications for the Community Sustainability Micro-Grant Program, offering up to $2,500 in funding to eligible projects focused on promoting sustainability in the community.
Micro-grants are available to individuals or community organizations planning an event or project that works towards the goals of the City’s
Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP).
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee based on:
• Overall creativity
• Project feasibility
• Positive impact and contribution to community sustainability goals
The application deadline is
May 8, 2024 at 4p.m. and all projects must be completed by the end of 2024.
The City’s ICSP focuses on environmental, economic, cultural and social concerns in the community. Eligible events and projects must address one or more of these pillars through any of the following themes: water, energy, transportation, food, healthy economy, infrastructure and environment, people and places, arts, culture and heritage, active healthy living and nature.
Since 2011, more than $190,000 in funding has supported over 100 community projects and events through the program, including a coffee pod recycling initiative, a dance showcase and an edible garden tour.
