Official Plan Public Consultation Sessions Re-Open

Public Consultations Re-Open on Updated Official Plan
Posted on 05/06/2024
The City of Charlottetown is inviting residents to provide feedback on the updated draft Official Plan, allowing City staff to further identify the community’s vision for the region and develop an inclusive roadmap to achieve those goals.

The new Official Plan will replace the previous plan developed in 1999 and is intended to guide development and growth in the Capital Region for the next 15 years.

A final series of drop-in engagement sessions for residents, developers and other stakeholders are being held this month and everyone is encouraged to attend any of the following sessions:

•Monday, May 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Malcolm Darrach Centre.

•Tuesday, May 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre.

•Wednesday, May 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Rodd Royalty Hotel.

•Wednesday, May 8 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre.

This will be the final phase of engagement before the Official Plan is presented to Council for deliberation this fall. Residents do not need to attend every engagement session, as the multiple dates are designed to enable as many community members to provide feedback as possible.
