Charlottetown once again listed as one of the Top Cities to live in Canada

The City is proud to announce that Maclean’s Magazine has once again listed Charlottetown as one of the top cities to live in Canada in its most recent print edition.

“We are thrilled to once again sit atop a Maclean’s Magazine’s Top Cities list,” said Mayor Philip Brown. “Charlottetown’s quality of life is truly unrivalled in the country, and we take great joy in bettering our community consistently and showing everyone why we are one of the best places in the world to live.”

The new edition, entitled Canada’s Best Affordable Places to Live, spotlights 10 Canadian cities considered ‘on the rise’, where access to great jobs and amenities are coupled with a benchmark housing price under the national average of $700,000. Maclean’s analysed housing data and provided on-the-ground reporting to select hidden-gem locations.

Charlottetown was considered on the rise as the population is expected to grow from 40,000 to 66,000 by 2040. The article also highlights the city’s green energy sector, growing diversity and leaps and bounds in infrastructure and education in recent years.

Unlike prior editions, the most recent list is not based on ranking; cities were selected and evaluated because they are still considered to be affordable, great places to live. Each location shows readers what they can get for an affordable price and what makes that area special.

This is not the first time the City has made a MacLean’s Top Cities list. In 2021, Charlottetown was tied for first place with Halifax on Maclean’s Best Communities.
