Dog Parks

Off-leash dog parks are available at the following locations:

Hillsborough Park



Hillsborough Park Dog Park

Located off of Acadian Drive in Hillsborough Park, the fenced in area offers approximately 27,000 square feet of open green space for dogs to enjoy off-leash activity. The Park has separate play areas for large and small breed dogs. Signage with rules for the dog park is posted. Dog waste bags and waste bins are provided at the dog park, along with benches for park users to sit as their dogs enjoy their freedom. Play equipment has been installed. The dog park is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to dusk each day. 

PEI Humane Society



Located behind the Shelter at 309 Sherwood Road in Charlottetown, the park is a large fenced-in area, dedicated just to dogs wanting to interact with other dogs. The dog park is accessible to the public at no cost, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Please note, this dog park is currently under construction. For updates visit the PEI Humane Society

Upton Farmlands



Upton Farmlands is located at the Trans Canada Highway and Upton Road. This open space offers pet owners an opportunity to have off-leash time with their dogs. A designated off-leash area will be put in place in the near future, please visit the Upton Farmlands website for more information. 

Hillsborough Dog Park Rules

THESE RULES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE AREA FOR YOUR DOG!

PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES AND HAVE FUN!

• Dogs must be in the care and control of an adult handler over the age of 16 years of age.
• Leashes should be removed immediately upon entering the park.
• Watch your dog and keep your dog’s leash with you at all times.
• Owners must remain inside the park with their dogs.
• Leash your dog immediately if aggressive behavior toward other dogs or people is observed.
• Remove your dog at the first sign of dangerous behavior towards people or other dogs.
• Be polite. Scoop the poop! Scoops and trash cans are available in the park.
• All dogs must be licensed and vaccinated.
• There is a limit of two dogs per person in the park.
• Curb excessive barking – remove your dog.
• Dogs must wear a collar with identification at all times.
• Dogs that are in heat or are sick or injured should not be in the park.
• Dogs should be leashed in the parking lot to and from the park.
