Charlottetown Fire Department Hosting Family-Friendly Open House Oct. 6

With International Fire Prevention Week just around the corner, the Charlottetown Fire Department is inviting the public to an exciting open-house event to kick off the week’s events.
This free, family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include station tours, firefighter games for youth, equipment demonstrations and a firefighter’s relay.
Activities planned are designed for both firefighters and the public alike. Some competitive events for firefighters will include:
• A firefighter skills challenge
• A duty race in bunker gear
• A race in full SCBA gear
• A hose replacement relay
The Fire Department encourages attendees to bring family and friends as well, as winners of the events earn bragging rights! Light refreshments will also be served.
