Residents are invited to review the proposed goals of the City’s Climate Action Plan and provide their input to help shape a sustainable future for the community.
When finalized, the Climate Action Plan will be the City’s guiding document on climate resiliency measures and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. Last spring, the City conducted extensive public consultation in partnership with collaborating organizations to better understand the community’s priorities for the plan. These findings are outlined in a
What We Heard Report the City is releasing at the same time which informed the creation of the draft actions for the plan.
The City is now inviting feedback on the actions formed from the public’s input. Community members can review and comment on the proposed actions through an interactive platform available at the link below. A downloadable workbook is also available for those who would like to provide written responses. Printed copies can also be picked up at the front desk of Charlottetown City Hall at 199 Queen Street. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.

This event will allow community members who prefer to provide in-person input to review the draft goals and actions and to speak to City staff leading this work. The event will include light refreshments as well as children’s activities.
After this round of community engagement, City staff will finalize the Climate Action Plan goals and actions as well as establish timelines, targets and key performance indicators. A final Climate Action Plan is expected to be presented to Charlottetown Council early next year.
