This project, carried out from 2017 to 2019, studied the ecological health of the ponds in Charlottetown. The project was carried out by Holland College's Environmental Applied Science Technology Program, Ellen’s Creek Watershed Group with the help of Wright’s Creek Watershed Environmental Committee and the City of Charlottetown.
The goal was to determine the ecological health of 11 ponds within the Charlottetown.
It was determined that these water bodies had not been monitored for their ecological health. Determining the water and sediment quality along with the invertebrate life can help develop action plans to aid in the restoration of damaged watersheds.
