City Invites Feedback on Active Transportation Plan
Posted on 03/31/2025
The public will have multiple opportunities to learn and provide feedback on the City’s Active Transportation Plan in April.

Charlottetown’s Active Transportation Plan will identify challenges and propose solutions and systems to increase active transportation options with the goal of creating a healthier, more sustainable and interconnected community.

Public input will help the City better understand the current barriers and opportunities for active transportation throughout Charlottetown. The public is invited to take part in any of the engagement opportunities noted below.

Community Open House
Date: Thursday, April 3, 2025
Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
Location: Charlottetown Library and Leaning Centre, Rotary Auditorium, 97 Queen St.
Details: Attendees will have an opportunity to view draft active transportation routes and infrastructure and provide feedback on priorities and barriers to using active transportation. The Community Open House is happening in conjunction with an engagement on the upcoming Parking Strategy. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn and provide feedback on both plans.

The City will also host a virtual Open House on Monday, April 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants are asked to register for the virtual event and a zoom link will be emailed to all who sign-up. The virtual Open House will follow the same format as the in-person event and will be recorded and uploaded for later viewing.

An online survey on the Active Transportation Plan is also open until April 10.

The public is encouraged to learn more about the City’s Active Transportation Plan and to contact [email protected] with questions.

Development of the Active Transportation Plan aligns with the City’s strategic direction of enhancing connectivity and developing sustainable infrastructure and community resilience.
