Climate Action Plan Public Engagement Opportunity

City Invites Residents and Visitors to Share Input on Climate Concerns and Impacts
Posted on 06/14/2024
The City of Charlottetown is inviting the public to take part in an upcoming drop-in style event where residents will have the opportunity to provide input and feedback informing the vision and actions included in the Climate Action Plan.

The Climate Action Plan is currently in creation. When complete, it will guide future work to make the community more resilient to the effects of climate change as well as to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). To create a plan that meets the needs of the community and works towards a collective vision of success, it is essential that all voices are part of the conversation. All those who live, work, and regularly visit Charlottetown are encouraged to attend.

Date: Tuesday, June 25, 2024

Time: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Location: Charlottetown Library Learning Centre Rotary Auditorium (97 Queen Street)

To date, The City has completed extensive background research that will inform the Plan. This has resulted in the composition of a Future Climate Projections Report, Community GHG Inventory, and a Vulnerability and Risk Assessment. With this preliminary work done, the next phase is visioning and action setting.

An online survey will be launched following the event to gain input from those who were unable to attend. Future public engagement is anticipated in fall 2024.
